John is a licensed professional engineer (PE) with extensive and diverse experience in the heavy industrial engineering and construction markets. He started his career as a Structural Engineer at several large EPC firms, serving as a professional design consultant on projects ranging from smaller, complex plant modifications to large capital EPC projects. Before joining Isomer Project Group as a partner, he also spent time as a key part of an established project development team. While working on that team, John successfully led engineering teams in early project development and front-end design of multiple industrial projects and provided professional Owner’s Agent services to clients in various industries. John has a proven track record of translating strong leadership, a team mindset, and excellent technical skills to effectively planning and delivering industrial projects of all sizes through their life cycle, from early development to construction. In addition, he has a passion for project execution and serving others, which he leverages to drive projects towards success for all project stakeholders.
John and Kristen live in Greenville, South Carolina, with their daughter Adele. They call Greenville home but still claim to have a piece of their heart located in the Rocky Mountains after spending a couple year “vacation” in Denver pre-kids. The Hoppe family can most days be found in their front yard in Gower, chasing the young neighborhood kids around and socializing with their neighbors. They are active members at Grace Church and enjoy spending time in any capacity outdoors, including tailgating and cheering on the Tigers in Clemson on fall Saturdays. John enjoys snowboarding bowls in the Rockies, working out at the local Y, running on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and escaping to the golf course any chance he gets.
