Laura and Dan meet at The Citadel. They both competed at the NCAA Division I level in Track and Field. Laura was a javelin thrower, and Dan was a 400 M hurdler. Dan got his degree in electrical engineering and is currently the Quality Manager at Kyocera AVX in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. They have four kids, Julie, Stella, Jameson, and Tyler, who keep them more than busy with activities. Most nights and weekends, they can be found at the CESA complex or traveling the southeast for soccer tournaments. They enjoy spending time with family at the beach and lake, where Laura has taken up paddle boarding as a hobby.
