Scott graduated cum laude in Chemical Engineering with emphases in Energy Studies and Business Management from Clemson University. During that time, he displayed exceptional critical thinking skills and determination during his coursework and four co-op rotations with a polyurethane foam mattress manufacturer. At his co-op, Scott's focus was on new product development and continuous improvement. However, Scott still clings to an adage he heard when he was younger: "If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life." To him, this means working with good people and doing things the right way the first time to avoid unnecessary difficulty.
Growing up in rural Georgia led Scott to his love of learning new things and appreciating the little things in life. You will rarely see him without a smile for an extended period as he takes pride in trying to improve other people's days by being a beacon of positivity. He grew up playing basketball in leagues and other sports recreationally with friends, which is still one of his favorite things to do. Other than that, he shares his parents' love of and often spends his free time practicing trivia, hiking, reading, listening to 70s yacht rock and folk rock, and doing whatever puzzles he can get his hands on, to name a few. However, more than anything, he loves to be around his friends and family, doing whatever makes them happy.
