This effort included the detailed design engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for a $100 million program for 4 existing units at a coal-fired power plant to implement fly ash, bottom ash, and pyrites transport, handling and disposal. These projects were implemented to meet the coal combustion residuals (CCR) environmental regulations to eliminate ash ponds and minimize water use. The EPC team integrated 3 major technology packages into the program by providing detailed design engineering for all disciplines. Services also included in-house procurement and self-performed construction. The project included 3 new greenfield areas for fly ash, bottom ash, and pyrites storage and handling with fly ash filter separators and silos, bottom ash submerged flight conveyors and surge tanks, and pyrites submerged flight conveyors.
