The scope consisted of developing a companywide reliability program for a major pulp and paper corporation. The project team led a group that included contractors from three separate companies with extensive reliability programs to understand differences in preventative maintenance need identification and their maintenance route and task development approaches. Because the design process is the best time to develop and implement an all-inclusive reliability program, the first phase of the program was developed to implement all major capital projects as a normal course of business throughout the company. The second phase included developing a process to be used at the company's existing facilities to build a robust reliability program from the ground up through intense data gathering and operations and maintenance personnel input. All-new tools were developed from the ground up and rolled out across the company's software platforms to ensure global adherence to the new protocols.
