This effort included front-end engineering services and detailed design for the installation of a new glass bead production line in an existing building. The furnace was specified and purchased by the customer. Preliminary engineering included a material balance for analysis of raw material consumption, utility demand, and emissions estimates to support permitting. Front-end packages included PFDs/H&MB, P&IDs, major equipment lists, factored and detailed cost estimates, and General Arrangement drawings. The detailed design included specification and procurement packages for the raw material batching systems, including both pneumatic and mechanical conveying systems; emissions control equipment including a baghouse and stacks; and finished product screening and packaging equipment including vibratory screeners, conveying equipment, and 50-lb bag and bulk bag loading equipment. The project also included all utility piping, controls, and electrical additions necessary for the new equipment, and needed ventilation modifications to the existing building.
