This effort included the detailed design, permitting, and on-site construction support for a $400 million, 850,000 sq. foot state-of-the-art particleboard manufacturing plant. The design included all engineering disciplines and the integration of three (3) major OEM process packages: bleaching, deodorization, and dry chemical interesterification. The project had a process building and tower, raw material and finished product tank farm, wastewater treatment plant, utility corridor, truck and rail loading, and several utility bridges. The fast-tracked, design-build project included a challenging site under the floodplain, with highly compressible gulf coast clay soils, requiring the site to be raised and extensive ground improvement measures before building the infrastructure. In addition to detailed design and on-site construction support, the team successfully value-engineered several million dollars in cost savings for the customer with excellent on-budget, on-time delivery.
