Bert began his career on the path less traveled, joining the US Navy immediately after high school. While in the Navy, he graduated from the Navy Nuclear Power Program and served onboard a nuclear submarine for four years. After his service, he graduated from The Citadel with an electrical engineering degree. Bert has diverse project experience in the commercial, specialty chemical, oil and gas, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing industries. He has extensive experience in the specialty chemicals industry and has supported projects for many of the top chemical producers. His project experience spans the entire project lifecycle, from FEED to detailed design for projects ranging from $20MM to $1B TIC. Bert is driven by his desire to get the engineering correct the first time and for continuous improvement.
Bert and his wife, Kelli, live in Greenville, South Carolina. Kelli works for the Prisma Health hospital system. In their spare time, they enjoy dining and wine and look forward to their next trip to wine country. They have two adult children, Alexandra (Alex) and Kevin.
